A*STAR International Graduate Scholarships

The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), in collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), is pleased to introduce the International Graduate Scholarships (IGS) programme. Under this scheme, outstanding undergraduate students from Iranian universities can undertake graduate studies at the Master`s level at NUS, NTU and their partner institutions. PhD level studies may be tenable upon completion and distinction in the Master`s programme.

Areas

Biomedical Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Engineering Sciences. Includes,

Molecular and Cell Biology, Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, Genomics, Bioprocessing Technology, Bioinformatics and Systems/Computational Biology.

Data Storage and Spintronics, Information and Communications Technology, Materials Science, Chemistry and Chemicals Engineering, Computational Materials Science, Microelectronics and Semiconductor Technologies, Advanced Manufacturing Technologies.

Purpose

The A*STAR International Graduate Scholarships (IGS) offer support for postgraduate studies up to Master`s level at NUS and NTU in selected research areas of Biomedical Sciences, and Physical and Engineering Sciences, leading to the award of a Master`s degree by research. Outstanding candidates may progress to PhD studies.

Eligibility

Open to final year undergraduate students and recently graduated individuals from Iranian universities, including Amir Kabir University of Technology, Isfahan University of Technology, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Health Services, Sharif University of Technology, Shiraz University, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and Tehran University

Applicants should constitute the top 15% of their cohort or have a minimum GPA of 15 out of 20 under the Iranian system of grading, as well as obtain good reports from their academic referees

Candidates who are non-graduates of Iranian universities should have a UK First Class Honours degree or a GPA of 3.8 and above from US universities

Candidates should have a good command of English and submit their TOEFL results if available.

Coverage

Successful candidates will be given support for up to 2 years of academic pursuit, leading to a Master`s degree.
